INT. CONFERENCE ROOM – CONTINUOUS
The room is suffocatingly quiet. The CEO stares at the wax-sealed envelope on the table as if it were a bomb. Mr. Sterling, the lead investor, leans forward, his eyes narrowing.
MR. STERLING (Voice icy) I think it’s time we find out what is in that envelope.
The CEO tries to reach for it, her hand shaking.
CEO (Forced smile) Mr. Sterling, this is just internal HR paperwork. It’s highly confidential. It shouldn’t concern a board meeting—
ELENA (Cutting her off, calm and steady) It concerns the integrity of this company, Mr. Sterling. The “HR paperwork” inside contains proof of embezzlement and the illegal systematic harassment of employees.
The CEO’s face turns pale. She looks at Elena, her eyes filled with pure venom.
CEO You think you’re smart, don’t you? You’re a liability, Elena! You’re pregnant, you’re emotional, and you’re delusional. Nobody is going to believe you over me!
ELENA (Standing up slowly, looking directly at the CEO) I don’t need them to “believe” me. I have the receipts.
Elena nudges the envelope toward Mr. Sterling. He breaks the wax seal. He pulls out a stack of documents, his eyes scanning the pages. Every second he reads, his face darkens.
MR. STERLING (Quietly, to the CEO) Is this your signature on the offshore account transfers?
The CEO remains silent. She looks around the room, desperately looking for an ally. She spots David.
CEO David! Tell them! Tell them she’s lying!
David looks at the CEO, then at the documents in Mr. Sterling’s hand. He takes a long, slow breath.
DAVID (Voice low) I can’t do that, boss. I’ve seen the reports too. I just didn’t think you’d be foolish enough to leave a paper trail.
CEO (Screaming) You traitor!
MR. STERLING (Standing up, slamming the documents onto the table) That is enough. I’m calling the board. Security will be here in five minutes to escort you from the building.
The CEO stares at them—a mixture of rage and defeat. She realizes the power dynamic has completely inverted. She turns and marches out of the room, her high heels clicking sharply on the hardwood, echoing her final failure.
ELENA (Sighing, placing a hand on her stomach) It’s over.
MR. STERLING (Turning to Elena, his voice respectful) Ms. Elena, I am incredibly sorry for what you’ve been through. Your dedication to the truth—while enduring all of this—is exactly what this company needs.
ELENA (Small smile) I just want to do my job, Mr. Sterling. And I want to do it without being abused.
MR. STERLING Starting tomorrow, there will be a new structure in place. We have a lot of work to do to restore our reputation. I’d like you to be a key part of that process.

EXT. OFFICE BUILDING – LATER THAT DAY
The evening light reflects off the skyscrapers. Elena walks out of the building. She isn’t running, and she isn’t hiding. She walks with her head held high.
David catches up to her near the parking garage.
DAVID Elena! Wait!
She turns around.
ELENA Yes, David?
DAVID I… I’m sorry. I knew what she was doing. I was scared to speak up. I know that’s not an excuse.
ELENA (Softly) It’s not. But it’s a start. You have a choice now, David. You can keep looking the other way, or you can help us rebuild something worth working for.
She begins walking to her car.
DAVID (Calling after her) I’ll do the right thing, Elena! From now on!
Elena gets into her car, finally letting out a long, shuddering breath. She looks at her reflection in the rearview mirror—she looks tired, but for the first time in months, she looks at peace.
She starts the engine, and as she drives away, the reflection of the corporate office fades into the distance.
