Scene 1: Despair in the Dining Room
(The silence in the dining room is broken only by Beatriz’s sobs. Her husband, Julian, is kneeling beside her, trying to comfort her while her mother-in-law, Mariana, walks away without looking back.)
Julian: Beatriz, please, look at me. Breathe. The baby… we need to stay calm.
Beatriz: (Sobbing, her voice breaking) She doesn’t care, Julian. She never cared. The clock… that clock was the last thing I had of my grandfather. She broke it on purpose!
Julian: (Whispering, looking at the door) We need to get out of here. This place is poisoned.
Beatriz: And where are we going? She controls everything! The money, the house, the name… she even destroyed our dignity.
Scene 2: The Confrontation in the Office
(Mariana stands before a huge fireplace. She is drinking a glass of wine, her hand trembling slightly.)
Mariana: (To herself) The lineage… everything depends on a perfect appearance. And you, Beatriz, are the crack in my perfection.
(The door opens abruptly. Julian enters, his face red with anger.)
Julian: You’ve crossed every line, Mother. Beatriz is pregnant. You almost hurt her.
Mariana: (Without turning around) I am protecting the future of this family. Something you, with your weakness, would never understand.
Julian: What future? A future built on shards of glass? The clock you broke… it wasn’t just an object. It was proof of our history. You destroyed our identity.
Mariana: (Turns around, with a cold look) The identity of this family is me. And if you continue to support this girl, you will have no place in it.
Scene 3: The Planned Escape
(Late at night. The guest room is dark. Beatriz is packing a few clothes into a suitcase. Julian enters, holding a small box containing the clock fragments.)
Beatriz: Did you get it?

Julian: (Handing over the box) It was in the trash, in her office. She didn’t even bother to hide it.
Beatriz: Julian, if we leave today, she’ll never let us come back. She’ll hunt us down.
Julian: (Holding her hands firmly) Let her try. I’d rather live on the streets with you than be the heir to this dynasty of lies.
Beatriz: (Placing her hand on her stomach) For our child.
Julian: Exactly. For our child. Let’s start over.
Scene 4: The Cruel Discovery
(The following morning. Mariana enters the guest room and finds it empty. She walks to the bedside table and finds a note.)
Mariana: (Reading the note, in a cold, disdainful voice) “The dynasty doesn’t fall because of outsiders. It falls because of the rot you yourself cultivated.”
(She tears the note to pieces and throws it on the floor. Her face shows contained fury.)
Mariana: (Phones someone) Yes… they’re gone. Destroy everything that’s left of them. I want them to know that, out there, they are nothing.
Scene 5: The New Horizon
(Months later. A small, simple apartment in a distant city. Beatriz, now with a much larger belly, is sitting at the table while Julian repairs the old clock, carefully gluing the pieces together.)
Beatriz: (Smiling) Does it still work?
Julian: (The clock makes a soft mechanical sound) Time never stops, Beatriz. Even after being broken, it keeps moving forward.
Beatriz: We are happy here, Julian. Even without luxury.
Julian: We are truly rich, Beatriz. For the first time, we don’t need to pretend to anyone.

(They embrace as the now mended clock ticks the hours at a steady pace, symbolizing a new life, free from the shadows of the past.)
